StoryNory

This is for your imaginative little ones who might not have the longest attention spans. With short episodes, they won’t get lost or bored of long plot lines but will be exposed to wonderful tales of action and adventure.

Eleanor Amplified

This NPR produced podcast is an exciting adventure targeted towards the imaginative ones who might be sick of science and learning podcasts by now. With Eleanor’s strong moral code and excellent storytelling, there is always an important lesson hiding in the excitement.

Wow in the World

This podcast by NPR is specifically designed to pique your entire family’s interest. They combine “science and fun” to explore kid-approved topics such as outer space, dinosaurs, and roller coasters.

But Why

A Podcast for Curious Kids by Vermont Public Radio. Topics such as how bubbles are made, why dogs have whiskers, and how chocolate is made are explained in kid-friendly and funny terms. This may be for a slightly older audience with longer attention spans, but you can select episodes to please the younger ones as well.

Story Pirates

The Story Pirates (not actual pirates) are hilarious and empowering stories performed by actors and improvisers who act out original stories created by kids (b/w the ages of 2 -tween). This is a podcast where the kids write the stories! How cool is that? The kid authors are interviewed at the end providing a unique opportunity to catch glimpses of kids’ lives, what they love, and why they love to create.

Dream Big

Joined by her mother, 7-year-old Eva Karpman chats up celebrities, award-winning experts, and trailblazers from all walks of life. Recent episodes include interview subjects like Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, Spartan Race founder Joe De Sena, and Hardcore History host Dan Carlin. Thanks to the sweet mother-daughter tag team, hear about these thought leaders in a completely fresh light, and to be inspired in the process.

What If World

There is no question too silly for this storytelling podcast hosted by Mr. Eric O’Keefe. Mr. Eric takes a “what if?” question from a friend and spins it into an incredible story! What if houses could fly? What if sharks had legs? What if a tiny dragon lived in your closet? These topics are all fair game, making for an incredibly entertaining listen for parents and kids alike. Listeners are even encouraged to call or email with their own questions, which are crafted into original stories using fun voices and lots of imagination!
